Flyers sign Boucher, LaperriereHockey Betting Lines07/01/2009 - Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Philadelphia Flyers brought a familiar face back into the fold Wednesday, as they signed goaltender Brian Boucher to a two-year deal. The club also inked veteran forward Ian Laperriere to a three-year deal. Boucher, who was a first-round pick by the Flyers in 1995, spent last season in San Jose and was 12-6-3 with a 2.18 goals against average and .917 save percentage in 22 games with the Sharks. He also managed to post a pair of shutouts while serving mainly as the backup to No. 1 netminder Evgeni Nabokov. The 32-year-old Rhode Island native also figures to be a backup with the Flyers, who signed Ray Emery to be the club's top netminder last month. Boucher has played in 247 NHL career games, including 103 contests with the Flyers from 1999-2002. In addition to his time with the Flyers and Sharks, Boucher has also played at the NHL level for Phoenix, Calgary, Chicago and Columbus. Laperriere played in 74 games with Colorado last season and notched seven goals, 12 assists and also led the team with 163 penalty minutes. The 35-year-old winger has played in 1,001 NHL games with the Avalanche, Los Angeles, St. Louis and the New York Rangers and has recorded 118 goals, 198 assists and 1,794 penalty minutes over that span.

That ‘D’ should be bolstered with the addition of former Bucs and Denver Broncos betting safety John Lynch, who could make his Patriots debut on Sunday against his former mates. HC Jon Gruden had to be impressed with the way his Bucs played on both sides of the ball in their dominating 17-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins in Week 1’s NFL pre-season betting action. Expect to see more of Bennett, Kenneth Darby, and Earnest Graham, as they all compete for playing time with Warrick Dunn in the backfield this season. Defensively, the Bucs recorded four sacks and held the Fins offense in check all day. First round draft pick Aqib Talib was impressive in the secondary, recording a tackle and two pass defenses in his debut. Don’t be surprised to see Talib in the starting lineup opposite Ronde Barber for the Bucs in ’08. The betting trends suggest that NFL bettors should be backing the Bucs in this intra-conference exhibition. These two teams hooked up last year in Tampa Bay, with the Bucs winning that game 13-10. The Buccaneers have only lost one preseason game at home dating back to the beginning of the ’05 preseason. The Patriots have had a mixed bag of results in their recent exhibitions.
