Hill got things going with the first seven San Antonio points, and his three-pointer with 5:15 left made it an 18-4 contest. Hill, who had 17 in the first quarter, finished the period with a pair of buckets for a 28-10 Spurs advantage. The Spurs led by as many as 22 in the second quarter and took a commanding 49-27 lead into halftime. Richard Jefferson's dunk just prior to the four-minute mark of the third provided San Antonio with their largest lead of the game at 65-34, and it was 82-62 heading into the fourth, which was just a formality on the way to the Spurs' win. Game Notes The Spurs improved to 2-1 on an eight-game road trip that will see the team visit the Lakers, Nuggets, Pacers, 76ers and Pistons...San Antonio is 10-10 on the road, and Los Angeles is 14-10 at home...The 27 points by the Clippers in the first half is a season-low for any half.

Expect a Dallas team able to walk away with another 3-1 preseason record. This team scored a league-worst 12 offensive touchdowns last season, so the rookies and veterans each have something to prove. There’s a bounty of first-unit jobs up for grabs and plenty of bodies competing for those slots. First-time head coach Lane Kiffin will be eager to impress an owner who employs the philosophy, “Just win, baby!” The 32-year-old Kiffin has to command respect from a locker room full of players older than him. All of these factors should lead to purpose in preseason. Don’t forget: before playing like a team that belonged in NFL Europe, Oakland went 4-1 (both SU and ATS) in exhibition games.
