The Clippers started the fourth on a 9-1 spurt to get within five. Bobby Brown's jumper cut the gap to 79-74 with 8:48 to play. But the Blazers responded with an impressive 25-6 flurry to seal the victory. Webster capped the run with consecutive three-pointers to make it 104-80 with 1:49 remaining. The Blazers ended the first quarter on an 8-3 spurt to take a 26-20 margin into the second. Portland then started the second on a 13-4 run to create some breathing room. Dante Cunningham and Fernandez each tallied five points during the burst, which Webster capped with a trey to make it 39-24 with 5 1/2 minutes remaining. The score was 49-38 at the half. The Blazers scored the first six points of the third to open up a 55-38 lead. Webster's long jumper with less than 4 1/2 minutes left had Portland in front 69-48. The Blazers held a 78-65 margin after three periods.
