second half to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers, 124-103, in a battle between two
of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference at the Wachovia Center.
Ben Wallace poured in 18 points for the Pistons, who snapped an 11-game skid.
Tayshaun Prince donated 14 points and seven rebounds. Ben Gordon chipped in 13
points off the bench for Detroit, which also ended an 11-game slide on the
road.
Marreese Speights finished with 21 points and six rebounds for the Sixers, who
have lost four in a row and seven of their last nine contests. Jodie Meeks
made 8-of-11 shots from the field on his way to 19 points off the bench. Andre
Iguodala and Lou Williams added 12 points apiece for Philadelphia, which was
outscored, 63-42, in the second half.
Detroit opened the third quarter on a 13-4 run to go ahead by nine. Prince had
five points during the surge, including a pair of free throws to make it 74-65
with 7 1/2 minutes remaining.
Stuckey's three-point play moments later extended the Pistons' lead to 12,
82-70, and the score was 91-80 heading to the final frame.
Detroit started the fourth on an 11-4 spurt to essentially seal the victory.
Austin Daye tallied seven points during the burst, which Gordon capped with a
jumper to make it a 102-84 contest with 9 1/2 minutes to play.
Philadelphia never got closer than 13 the rest of the way.
The Pistons held a 34-30 edge after 12 minutes of action, but the Sixers made
it 61-all at the half.

The Pistons won the season series with the Sixers, 3-1...Detroit has won nine
of 12 and 11 of its last 16 trips to the Wachovia Center...Philadelphia was
without forward Thaddeus Young (thumb) and guard Rodney Carney (toe)...Detroit
